Archangel Motorsports Principle Mike Johnson has been announced as a commentator for the Speed SCCA National RunOffs. With Johnson's background in motorsports and television, the St. Louis native will add extra depth and knowledge to the telecasts.
This marks the second straight season that Johnson will announce the RunOffs.
Johnson has seen motorsports from all levels and angles. As a driver Johnson has run in open wheel, production, and prototype level race cars. As a team owner Johnson has also been involved from the grassroots efforts of SCCA National Racing to premiere events such as the Daytona 24 Hours.
In addition to his past experience with the SCCA RunOffs, Johnson's television background includes a stint on MTV's The Real World as well as stints on "The Real World / Road Rules Challenge".
Johnson first appeared on the world's leading music television channel as a cast member of "Real World, IV," filmed entirely in London. "The Real World," is MTV's critically acclaimed reality-based show that is the true story of seven strangers, male and female, picked to all live in one house together, to find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting "Real."
Each year, more than 700 drivers gather to compete for National Championship medals in 25 different classes. With drivers, crew, workers and sponsors from all over the country in attendance, the best Club Racers in the country face off for over twenty action packed races.
